When the plural is used to denote a certain or specific number of people it is formed in three ways:
A. no change from the singular form:

B. by adding an –s:

C. by internal vowel change:

Note that there are two specific plural forms for people from Scotland, i.e. Scots and Scotsmen.
When the plural is used to denote people in general, it is usually formed by adding the to the front of the specific plural form, although the is optional depending on the content of the sentence, e.g.
(The) Chinese are excellent ping-pong players.
(The) Swiss are famous for their watches.
(The) Pakistanis are well-known carpet makers.
(The) Australians are fond of playing sport.
(The) Russians excel in playing chess.
Note, however, that certain nationality nouns may take two forms of the plural when referring to people in general: e.g.
You have to complete each sentence with a word from the box. Use THE, and make the word plural if necessary.
